Why is Children’s Day celebrated in India?
Children’s Day (Bal Diwas) भारत में हर साल 14 नवंबर को मनाया जाता है।

Today, we have gathered here to celebrate Children’s Day 2025, a day dedicated to the happiness, growth and dreams of every child. In India, Children’s Day is celebrated on 14th November, the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India. Nehru ji loved children deeply and believed that “children are the real foundation of a nation.”
He always said that if we want to build a strong and developed India, we must give children the best education, values, and opportunities. That is why he is remembered as Chacha Nehru.
Children’s Day reminds us that childhood is the most beautiful phase of life — full of dreams, innocence, curiosity and joy. It also reminds parents, teachers and society that every child deserves love, safety, education and equal rights.
On this occasion, I want to say to all my friends:
Keep learning, keep dreaming and never stop believing in yourself.
